New Delhi: Banagalore is blessed with a temple where sun rays falls only once in an year on January 14, the occasion of Makara Sankranti.
The temple's name is Shree Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple, it is located in the Basavanagudi area of Bangalore.
The cave where Shivalinga is placed is located almost 15 metres beneath the earth.
The temple attracts hundreds of devotees on the day.
On the day of Sankranti, a beam of sunrays passes through the two windows of the south-facing cave temple and slides down through the horns of Nandi to touch the Shivalingam. The entire activity lasts for almost 20 minutes.
