4. Madhavrao Scindia:

Son of the last ruling Maharaja of Gwalior, Madhavrao Jivajirao Scindia, a great political figure of Congress Party, was killed in a plane crash on 1st October 2001.

He was bestowed the title of Maharaja of Gwalior in 1961 and held the title until 1971 when the Government of India abolished all official symbols of Princely states in the country. Madhavrao Scindia also served as President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India from 1990 to 1993.

Aged 56 years, Madhavrao Scindia and 7 of his co-passengers were killed when their plane crashed on the outskirts of Manipuri district in UP.
