Biggest drug haul: A huge haul of drugs has been seized in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Kochi. In its biggest recovery ever, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized heroin worth Rs 12,000 crore in a joint operation with Indian Navy.
The joint team of NCB and the Indian Navy seized 2500 kg of drugs in the Arabian Sea. The international value of the seized drugs is around Rs 12,000 crore, said sources adding that this is the biggest seized consignment so far. The consignment was being transported from Iraq to Australia.
About 15 days back, NCB and the Navy had received information about the consignment passing through the Indian coastline.
