Srinagar, May 11 : Strawberry growers in Kashmir valley are expecting a bumper strawberry crop this year.
The weather this year has been good, and according to horticulture officials, a record strawberry production is likely.
Strawberry is one of the first fruits that come to the markets after six months of harsh winter.
Officials said due to timely rains and snowfall, the crop this year has been better than expected.
Strawberry plucking starts from May and lasts in the market till the end of June.
Officials expect strawberry production to grow from 700 metric ton to 900 metric tonnes this year.
