Srinagar: In a move to encourage tourism in the Kashmir valley the J&K government has decided to develop infrastructural facilities at the famous tourist resort of Naranag in Ganderbal district, 40 kms from Srinagar.
Naranag is an archeological tourist site frequented by tourists since many years but the lack of infrastructure has limited the tourist flow to this place.
The state govt. has now started renovation of this spot with construction of a macadamized road and by building many hutments for night staying facilities, said Sarmad Hafeez, development commissioner, Ganderbal.
The government has devised a master plan under which this destination will be made a major attraction for the visitors.
The calm and serene environment has been the main attraction for domestic as well as foreign tourists. The local residents have welcomed this step hoping that it will generate employment.
