Effective measures against the left-wing extremism has also reduced the number of Naxal incidents in the state from last year's 370 to 270 (till now) this year, the DGP said.  The police also succeeded in arresting top CPI (Maoist) leaders and other organisations during the period, he added.  

“We are holding important meetings with the Superintendents of Police of different districts in forests areas to know details about the topography (in order) to take effective measures against extremism,” he said, asserting that the police would reach remote parts known as Maoist citadels.
