Kota (Rajasthan): An 18-year-old girl from Jharkhand, who was preparing for the All India Pre-Medical Entrance Test at a coaching institute here, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her hostel room in Mahaveernagar area of the city.
Police said she was reported to be under depression due to the burden of studies for some days. The body has been kept in mortuary of Maharao Bheem Singh Hospital and a post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow morning after the arrival of her parents from Jharkhand, police said.
Assistant Sub Inspector of Mahaveernagar police station Satayadev Singh said the girl, identified Nibha Kumari Tiwari, a resident of Chatra district of Jharkhand, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her hostel room in Mahaveernagar III.
Her body was found hanging from the ceiling of her room today morning, the ASI said, adding police took down the body from the knot and she was rushed to MBS Hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.
The girl was taking coaching for AIPMT in a renowned coaching institute here and was staying in a girls hostel room, ASI Satayadev said.
No suicide note has been recovered, he added. A case has been registered and further investigation into the matter is on, the police officer said.
