Bangalore: Former minister and mining baron G Janardhana Reddy was yesterday granted conditional bail by the CBI court here in connection with one of the illegal mining cases.
He has been granted relief in the case relating to alleged illegal mining activity by Associated Mining Company (AMC) owned by him and his spouse.
He, however, will not walk free because he has other cases pending before various courts, a CBI official said.
Reddy is also prime accused in cases related to Belekeri port iron ore export scam apart from the earlier cases.
He is also prime accused in cases related to Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) in Andhra Pradesh. CBI in Karnataka had filed an FIR against 21 persons, including Reddy and others in connection with alleged illegal quarrying by AMC.
Reddy, arrested in September 2011, had been in Hyderabad prison but is now in Bangalore undergoing treatment at a private hospital for back ache problem.
