New Delhi: Jamia Milia Islamia has decided to re-conduct its entrance exams for B.Tech and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) after rumours of a possible paper leak emerged.
"A preliminary enquiry, based on the details available, hints at the possibility of a breach in the examination system with respect to B.Tech entrance test that was conducted on June 13.
"Keeping in view the interests of the students who took the entrance examination and to maintain the highest degree of propriety and credibility of the examination process, the university administration has decided to cancel the above-mentioned test," the university said in a statement.
It said a fresh entrance test would be conducted on June 27.
Jamia also said the postponed BDS entrance test, which was scheduled to be held on June 14, will now be held on June 25.]
Fresh admit cards would be issued to all applicants and necessary details will be put out on the university website and also conveyed to every examinee through e-mail and SMS, it added.
"Jamia Millia Islamia views the matter very seriously and regrets the inconvenience caused to the students and parents," it said.
The university had on Saturday said that "owing to unavoidable circumstances, the BDS test scheduled for June 14 stands postponed".
