Srinagar: Three months have passed on but the people of J and K are yet to get relief from the horrible situation they have been facing in the aftermath of massive floods that shook the entire state. These floods destroyed over a lakh homes whereas many of the victims are still forced to live in tents.
The tent provided by the government after the floods is not enogh to take care of their needs. It's too small to hold a victim's two dozen family members. As winter is approaching , they are expecting things to get worse from the present situation, 67-year-old Saleema told a news channel.
Pulwama, Kulgam and Shopian in South Kashmir as well as Srinagar have faced these massive floods; a world of destruction where many of the houses collapsed, crops got putrefied and innocent pets (cattle) became casualties of the floods.
Temperatures have started to dip and with the Met Department predicting rain and snowfall in the hilly areas, the going will get even tougher for those living in the tents.
