Admitting that investigations in the Pune German Bakery blast were progressing at a slow pace, Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil has claimed that investigators have got clues on groups behind the February 13 attack .

"We have got clues tracing the people linked with the crime," Patil told reporters on sidelines of a function here last night.

He, however did not give any details regarding the groups supposedly involved in the blast but said "investigations were on the right track."

Expressing confidence that the culprits would be arrested soon, Patil said, "there will not be any arrests of wrong persons in the case".

Police had suspected the involvement of Abdul Samad Bhatkal, arrested in 2009 arms seizure case, in the Pune blasts. Maharashtra ATS had picked him up from the Mangalore airport on May 25 on his return from Dubai and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram had described him as the "prime accused" in the attack case.

He was released from Arthur Road jail here yesterday.

Bhatkal was charged with supplying of arms to three persons arrested from South Mumbai in August 2009.

Earlier, Patil handed over an additional fleet of vehicles to Pune police to beef up security in the city. PTI
