Kejriwal looked glum inside the Assembly today, after the introduction of Jan Lokpal Bill was set aside by the Speaker, when he conducted a headcount vote, in which 27 AAP members stood in favour, and 42 members drawn mainly from BJP and Congress stood against.
In the morning, the Lt Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung sent a message to Delhi Assembly Speaker saying that since the Jan Lokpal Bill was a "financial bill" and no consent has been taken from him, the bill should not be introduced.
The Speaker however went on to allow Kejriwal to introduce the bill. Both BJP and Congress strongly objected to this, and voting was done, in which the introduction of Jan Lokpal Bill was vetoed.
