Mumbai: In yet another sensational revelation in high-profile Sheena Bora murder case, investigators said accused Indrani Mukerjea and her second husband Sanjeev Khanna had placed corpse of Sheena between them on the rear seat of the car as they drove to Raigad from Mumbai to dump it there.
According to police, Sheena was abducted by the trio -- Indrani, Khanna and driver Shyam Rai -- from Bandra West between 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm on April 24, 2012, and strangled to death in the car.
Police said that after they strangled Sheena at Bandra's Linking Road, the trio moved towards the garage of Indrani's residence in Worli on the night of April 24, 2012.
The very next morning, all three left for Raigad with Sheena's body. The three had planned to burn the corpse of Sheena at the Raigad forest.
It was then, police said, the corpse of Sheena was positioned in such a way that nobody could doubt on them. They made Sheena's body placed between them to give an impression as if three of them were sitting together.
The body was finally taken out at Ghogade Khurd in Pen and stuffed back in the suitcase kept in the boot of the car. As soon as they noticed the body getting stiff, the three accused poured petrol and burnt the body.
Meanwhile, a Mumbai court on Monday extended till September 5 the police custody of Indrani and two others accused of killing her daughter. Police also charged Indrani with conspiring to kill her son Mikhail around the time she strangled Sheena.
