The dialogue unfolded ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024, providing a platform for both leaders to express their viewpoints.
What did the Samajwadi Party say at the Ram Temple?
Addressing the audience, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Pawan Pandey asserted the sacredness of Ayodhya, stating that Lord Ram resides in every particle of the city. He emphasised that after the consecration ceremony on January 22, they would visit Ayodhya to seek blessings from Lord Ram for the well-being of the entire state and country.
Pathak on SP's role against karsevaks
In response, BJP MP Subrat Pathak accused Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi Party members of orchestrating violence against Ram Bhakts, claiming they are responsible for the deaths of innocent devotees. He accused the Samajwadi Party of firing at innocent karsevaks. Pathak said Samajwadi Party leaders should not have been invited for the consecration of Ram Temple on January 22. He also stated that it would have been disrespectful to the karsevaks if Akhilesh Yadav had attended.
Samajwadi Party's stand on Swami Prasad Maurya's statements
During the India TV Samvaad program, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Pawan Pandey clarified the party's position on Swami Prasad Maurya's controversial statements. He emphasised that the Samajwadi Party president (Akhilesh Yadav) has never supported Maurya's statements, as all those are Maurya's personal remarks. Pawan Pandey also added that they have advised Swami Prasad Maurya against making such statements several times.
