New Delhi: We Indians are known for getting things done at cheap prices and today our Scientists have proved it to the world. The country's Mangalyaan satellite successfully made it into orbit around the Mars in the maiden attempt and that too at an astonishingly low cost of $74 million.
Yes you read it right!
India has made the world amazed with this amazingly cheaper cost to become Asia's first interplanetary power.
Indian Space Research Organization chief K. Radhakrishnan even called the Mars Orbiter Mission "the cheapest interplanetary mission ever to be undertaken by the world."
Just how cheap? This following list depicts a handful of surprising things that cost more than India's Mars mission.
1. MAVEN
India's Mars Mission is one-tenth of the price of NASA's MAVEN spacecraft that entered the red planet's orbit on Sunday night. It cost them around $672 million.
2. London Penthouse
London's most expensive apartment is sold at a whooping price tag of $237 million. With this much money, you could get three of India's satellites and with a better view.
3. Jackson Pollock Painting
Not even a die-hard art lover would ever dare to think about buying this painting. The reason is the mind-boggling price at which the painting was sold, i.e. $140 million
You can take an up down journey to Mars in India with that amount.
4. Airbus A380
This jetliner will make you poorer by more than $400 million. Better buy five Mangalyaan satellites for the same price.
5. Gravity
George Clooney and Sandra Bullock starrer "Gravity" cost about $100 million. It is about one-third more than the entire cost of India's Mars mission.
