Bhubaneswar: Cyclone Hudhud today weakened into a deep depression and lay centred over south Chhattisgarh and its neighbourhood, according to the meteorological centre here.
Hudhud, which had already weakened into a cyclonic storm, moved northwestwards and weakened further into a deep depression and lay centered over south Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood, about 90 km northwest of Jagdalpur and 190 km south of Raipur, it said.
It would further move north-northwestwards, weaken into a depression in the next six hours and finally into a well marked low pressure area during the subsequent six hours, it said.
So far the cyclone has claimed three lives in Odisha. The state government today braced for relief and rehabilitation in the affected southern districts.
