Mendhar (J&K), Jan 9: The Pakistani soldiers of Baloch Regiment who mutilated both the bodies of Indian Army's Lance Naik Sudhakar Singh and Lance Naik Hemraj Singh of Rajputana Rifles have taken away the head of one of the martyrs and are yet to return it, says Brig J K Tiwari, deputy General Officer Commanding, 25 Division.

Brig Tiwari told a news channel that "the head of one of the martyred jawans has not been recovered, and it was probably taken away."

Meanwhile, the mutilated bodies of both the jawans were brought to Mendhar in coffins, and are on the way to Delhi, where they will be given a funeral with full honours at the Rajputana Rifles Regimental Centre.

Brig Tiwari said, at around 11:30 am, at a place 7 km west of Mendhar towards the Line of Control, 600 metres inside Indian territory,  eight jawans on area dominance patrol were moving from one post to the other in dense fog, when they were fired upon by the Pakistani soldiers.
