New Delhi: Home Minister Rajnath Singh was Wednesday evening admitted to the AIIMS here over some intestinal problem, an official said.
"Rajnath Singh was admitted around 8.30 p.m. over some complaint in his lower abdomen," the official said on condition of anonymity.
He said the minister is under the scrutiny of Subrat Acharya, the head of the gastroenterology department.
Rajnath Singh will remain in the hospital till Thursday morning.
Singh is a sitting Lok Sabha MP from Lucknow. He holds Home portfolio in Narendra Modi's Cabinet.
He had broken the record of victory margin held by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee from Lucknow parliamentary seat. Singh trounced Congress candidate Rita Bahuguna Joshi by a margin of 2.72 lakh votes. Vajpayee, who represented Lucknow when he became the prime minister, won the seat by a margin of 2.16 lakh votes in 1998.
