New Delhi: In India, certain groups have raised concern over fast growth of Muslims but what is interesting is the fact that the total population of Hindus are increasing in far away Saudi Arabia.
According to The Future of World Religions report, some countries will see doubling of the number of Hindus by 2050 � all thanks to migration of Hindus and increase in their fertility rate.
According to this report, Hinduism has become fastest growing religion in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
This Report suggests that nearly 1 million Hindus are expected to move to a different region over the next four decades.
In Saudi Arabia, Hindus currently make up about 1.1% of the population. The report claimed that the total population of Hindus will go up to 1.6% by 2050.
In Pakistan, it claimed that the fertility rate of Hindu population is equal to that of Muslims in India i.e. 3.2 children per woman.
Fertility rate of all religions globally is about 2.5 children per woman whereas just 2.1 in the Asia-Pacific region.
The third country in Asia where Hinduism is growing is Thailand. Here, the Hindus will go from 0.1% of the Thai population to 0.2% by 2050.
The four countries that turn up here are Ireland, Belgium, Italy and Greece, all places where Hindus are expected to grow primarily.
The Pew Research Centre's had recently expressed concerns about Muslims overtaking Hindus in India. It had claimed that the religion is expanding significantly in Hindu-dominated country. According to it, by 2050, India will have the largest Muslim population of any country in the world.
According to 2011 census, total population of Muslims in India was 13.4 %. The latest report claimed that the same number will increase to 18.4% by 2050.
Buddhism, another religion that originates in India, is also growing rapidly in Europe.
