Vikramaditya Singh holds resignation as Sukhu-led Congress struggles to save govt in Himachal Pradesh
Himachal political crisis: The BJP wanted voting on the Budget, which they felt would reveal that the Congress has lost its majority in the state assembly. But in the afternoon, the crisis was staved off for the time being as the House passed the Finance Bill by voice vote
Himachal political crisis: The Congress scrambled Wednesday to save its government in Himachal Pradesh, amid dramatic developments that included suspension of 15 BJP MLAs by the Speaker and a resignation offer by high-profile minister Vikramaditya Singh. Singh, who is the son of Himachal Congress president Pratibha Singh, said in the morning that he is submitting his resignation from council of ministers but hours later softened his stand. After a meeting with central observers, who were rushed by the party to Shimla, Singh cited Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s “rejection” of his “offer” to resign and the need for unity in the party. He also claimed then that the state government was never in crisis. The turbulence in Himachal was triggered by Tuesday’s cross-voting by six Congress MLAs in the Rajya Sabha election for the lone seat from Himachal Pradesh.

BJP wants to crush rights of the people of Himachal: Priyanka Gandhi
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi lambasted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying the saffron party wants to crush the rights of the people of Himachal by misusing the money power and power of probe agencies.
"In democracy, the general public has the right to choose the government of their choice. The people of Himachal used this right and formed the Congress government with a clear majority. But BJP wants to crush this right of the people of Himachal by misusing the money power, power of agencies and power of the Centre. The way the BJP is using government security and machinery for this purpose is unprecedented in the history of the country. If a party with 25 MLAs is challenging the majority of 43 MLAs, then it clearly means that it is dependent on horse-trading of representatives. This attitude of theirs is unethical and unconstitutional. The people of Himachal and the country are watching everything. The BJP, which did not stand with the people of the state during the natural disaster, now wants to push the state into political crisis," she posted on X.
