Vadodara, Jul 13: Heavy rains led to disruption of train services on Mumbai-Ahmedabad route today.
There has been intermittent rains for the last 24 hours in Vadodra. Seven trains have been cancelled, 12 trains are running late, and six trains have been diverted.
The cancelled trains include: Mumbai-Ahmedabd double decker, Surat-Mumbai Flying Rani, Ahmedabd-Mumbi Karnawati Express, both Up and Dn, surat-Virar, Ahmedabd-Mumbai Bandra Exp, and Vasad-Dahod Express.
The south-west monsoon is active over Gujarat bringing rains to most parts of Gujarat. The weather department has warned heavy to very heavy rains.
Heavy rain coupled with strong winds resulted in falling of trees in several areas of Vadodara.
Rains also lashed southern districts of Surat, Tapi, Bharuch, Narmada, Valsad and central districts of Vadodara, Dahod and Panchmahal.
The rains also comes as a boon for the farmers who have already done sowing in 4.4 million hectares across the state till July 1.
