Etah (UP), Oct 19: A woman Meena Verma went to the government hospital in Etah on Thursday midnight and virtually begged for a bottle of blood to save her dying husband, but the doctor on duty turned a deaf ear to her fervent pleas.
The woman's husband Devendra was badly in need of blood transfusion, but the doctor citing rules refused to help the lady.
For nearly three hours, the woman begged and pleaded for blood in front of the doctor, but the medical officer did not show an iota of sensitivity.
The woman's husband was admitted to the emergency ward on Thursday night. He was badly in need of blood, but the medical officer B. Sagar did not make any emergency arrangement.
The man died after three hours at around 3 am on Friday morning , and as news of his death spread, his family members created a ruckus inside the hospital . His wife Meena fell unconscious.
The chief medical officer R C Pandey has constituted a two-member committee to probe the cause and circumstances of death.
