Kochi: The Kerala High Court today stayed further proceedings against Advocate General K P Dandapani before the Bar council of Kerala on charges of professional misconduct.
The Bar Council had sought the AG's remarks on a complaint filed by J S Ajit Kumar, an advocate, alleging misuse of the AG's office to favour his private office.
Challenging the Bar Council's action, Dandapani had moved the court on which an interim stay was granted.
It was further alleged that the AG misused his authority and secured standing counselship of several public sector undertakings for his son. Their law firm is controlled by Sumathi Dandapani and Millu Dandapani, the AG's wife and son.
The complainant alleged professional misconduct on the part of the AG and his family.
