Ranchi, May 20: The Jharkhand High Court yesterday granted former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad's plea to allow him to produce 70 witnesses in a special CBI court in connection with the multi-crore fodder scam.
Rejecting the special CBI court's directive to Prasad in March that he could produce only 15 witnesses, Justice R R Prasad allowed him to produce 70 witnesses in the case pertaining to alleged fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 34 crore, which was unearthed when he was the Chief Minister of undivided Bihar.
The special CBI court in March had told Prasad that he could produce only 15 witnesses though the RJD president had sought to produce 71 witnesses. Prasad had moved the High Court challenging this.
