Rohtak, Haryana, Jan 26: Angry villagers of Bahadurgarh today stopped traffic on National Highway 10 and later gheraoed the Haryana chief parliamentary secretary Ramkishen Fauji for nearly two hours demanding CBI probe into the abduction and murder of a local student.
Fauji was returning from the Republic Day function in Rohtak to New Delhi, when villagers stopped his car. Fauji went to the house of the murdered youth and gave a promise in writing to get the case probed by the CBI.
Meanwhile, the Haryana Director General of Police Ranjit Dalal rang up the village pradhan and promised to give the probe to CBI, after which the villagers released Fauji.
Abhishek, a polytechnic student was abducted on Friday last from a weekly market and his Santro car was found abandoned.
His body was found in a semi-burnt condition in the fields of Dariyapur village in Delhi.
Villagers of Sankhol near Bahadurgarh allege that Abhishek was abducted and killed by a youth of Rahod village who used to meet his sister.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch of Gurgaon Police has arrested five youths on charge of murder and abduction.
