Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today advocated for giving 50 per cent profit over and above the cost of production to farmers, saying that then there would not be any need for seeking bonus every year.
Addressing a large number of farmers at his residence here, Hooda said the Working Group Constituted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, under his Chairmanship, had submitted his recommendations to the central government.
The Working Group had suggested that to ensure sustainable income to the farmers, they should be given 50 per cent profit over and above the cost of production.
Hooda urged the farmers to give strength to him so that he could be able to further strengthen the farming community.
