Vadodara man tests positive; Gujarat COVID-19 cases surge to 8

With the surge in confirmed cases of coronavirus, Gujarat reported one more positive case of COVID-19. With this, the total number of infected cases has reached eight in the state.

With the surge in confirmed cases of coronavirus, Gujarat reported one more positive case of COVID-19. With this, the total number of infected cases has reached eight in the state. The man who tested positive in Vadodara, had a travel history to Sri Lanka.

Vadodara collector Shalini Agarwal told PTI, "A man with travel history to Sri Lanka, tested positive for coronavirus. He was part of a group that had recently travelled to Sri Lanka."

"Another member of the same group, a woman, had tested positive on Friday," she said.

As of now, the man has been kept in an isolation ward at the SSG Hospital in Vadodara and those who travelled with him, have also been quarantined.

This is the third positive case in Vadodara and eighth in Gujarat. The state reported its first coronavirus cases on Thursday i.e, March 19. 

A total of 22 states have reported confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in India.
