The minister was chairing monthly meeting to review functioning of the health department in Jammu region.

The department would establish two control rooms, one each in Jammu and Srinagar regions, to regulate the ambulance service that can be sought by dialing 102, he said.

"Not only will the technology help trace vehicles in times of need, but also ensure that drivers do not misuse these at the expense of patients," Khan added.

The minister also said that the state government has decided to organise crash courses in Gynaecology, Anaesthesia, Radiology and other streams to enable doctors posted in remote areas to cater to varied healthcare needs of the people.

Due to limited staff in health-care intuitions of far flung areas, the doctors posted there would be imparted crash courses in all important streams to enable them to cater to the varied needs of the patients.
