Chennai, Apr 10: Ahead of Ugadi celebrations tomorrow, Tamil Nadu Governor, Chief Minister and senior political leaders in the state today extended their greetings to Telugu and Kannada speaking people.
“Let us resolve to foster goodwill, unity and harmony and join hands to strengthen our nation. May Ugadi, the dawn of new year ‘Vijaya Nama' which denotes triumph, bring in victory in all spheres and pave the way for our nation's progress and prosperity,” Governor K Rosaiah said in his greetings.
Expressing her Ugadi wishes, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in her message, said, “Eventhough Telugu and Kannada speaking people are different by language, Tamil Nadu has paved a way for them to live along the sentiments of the Tamil people as brothers and sisters with love and affection.”
DMK chief M Karunanidhi also extended his Ugadi greetings to Telugu and Kannada speaking people who have been living as one people with the Tamils in the state.
