New Delhi: Government is planning to issue a red corner notice against Lalit Modi. The former IPL chief is currently under blue corner notice for alleged money laundering charges. Once the Blue corner notice against Lalit Modi is upgraded to Red Corner , it will become much easier for the Indian government to bring him back to the country.
A person against whom Red corner notice is issued may be arrested by the Interpol from any corner of the world.
Enforcement Directorate(ED) is speeding up the process of bringing back Lalit Modi.A total of Rs 1600 crores of money laundering charges is pending against Lalit Modi. Lalit Modi is staying outside India since 2011. It is expected that after Interpol gets the red corner notice, it will soon arrest him, since the location of Lalit Modi is known to international investigation agencies.
