Panaji, Mar 24: The Goa government has alerted all its health officers to keep a watch on Swine Flu symptoms among patients following the outbreak of H1N1 virus in neighbouring Maharashtra.

The Directorate of Health Services has issued circular to all the primary and community health centres, district hospitals and Goa medical college to monitor the patients who arrive with Flu.

Rajananda Desai, Director of Health Services, told reporters that an advertisement has also been released about symptoms of the deadly viral infection.

Goa has two district hospitals, 19 Primary Health Centres, six community health centres, and four urban health centres.

“A Common circular is issued to all the medical officers,” he said.

Several cases of Swine Flu have been reported from neighbouring Pune and Kolhapur, which has worried the state government here. Goa had reported Flu deaths in 2009.

Desai said there is no alert on the airport and railway station unlike in 2009 when all arrivals were being screened.

A special section was commissioned on the airport, which was screening all the passengers arriving there.
