New Delhi: Girls have once again outperformed boys in this year's class XII examination conducted by Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), the results of which were declared today.
In all, 96.58 per cent of girls and 94.18 per cent of boys passed the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination and the total pass percentage stood at 95.27, an increase of 0.12 per cent over last year.
In 2013, 96.66 per cent of girls and 93.91 per cent of boys had passed the examination.
Ayush Banerjee of Loyola School, Jamshedpur topped the exam scoring 99.25 per cent. The second position was held jointly by Shruti Agarwal of City Montessory Inter College in Gomti Nagar Lucknow and Rohini Chandrasekhar of Sheiling House, Kanpur. Both scored 99 per cent.
This year, 68,723 candidates appeared for the class 12th exam.
