Srinagar: Hardliner Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani Sunday called the BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as a “killer of humanity.”
He said Modi's candidature is “in total contrast to India's claim of being a democratic and a secular country.”
Addressing a massive public rally at Kulgam in south Kashmir, Geelani said: “Modi is the person responsible for the massacre of Muslims in Gujarat in 2002. He is responsible for gross human rights violations and barbaric victimization of Muslims there.”
"Modi is the killer of humanity. He is the main culprit responsible for the massacre of Muslims in Gujarat," Geelani said.
"He wants to spread communal tension in the state. His visit to Jammu and Kashmir is a threat to its peace and stability".
Geelani however described Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin, based in Pak Occupied Kashmir, a freedom fighter.
In south Kashmir, a PDP stronghold, Geelani reiterated his election boycott call.
Jamaat-e-Islami. Geelani's parent organization, had supported PDP in the 2008 assembly elections.
"Some pro-India parties try to justify participation in elections in the name of lesser evil," he said.
