The name of the Opposition's coalition - INDIA - is in the news even after almost one week. The row over the name is now revived by senior BJP leader and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. He removed 'INDIA' from his Twitter bio replacing it with BHARAT.

"In my previous bio, I mentioned Assam, INDIA. However, I forgot to update it after my journey from the INDIAN National Congress to the BHARATIYA Janata Party. Now, I have proudly changed my bio to Assam, BHARAT. Some friends from Congress are asking me why I changed my bio. I hope this explanation will satisfy them," the former Congress leader and now BJP prominent face - Sarma - tweeted.

Earlier, hours after INDIA's commencement, Sarma lambasted Opposition for naming its coalition as INDIA.

"Our civilisational conflict is pivoted around India and Bharat. The British named our country as India. We must strive to free ourselves from colonial legacies. Our forefathers fought for Bharat, and we will continue to work for Bharat," he tweeted on July 18 the day when the Opposition meet was held in Bengaluru.

Earlier, 26 Opposition parties led by Congress held a two-day session in Bengaluru on July 17-18 to chalk out a strategy to take on the ruling BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024.
