Four more people succumbed to swine flu on Thursday even as 142 fresh cases of the viral infection were reported from across the country.
Of the total cases of fresh infections, Delhi reported 39, Maharashtra 35, Tamil Nadu 18, Kerala 9 and Karnataka 13.
With today's cases, the total number of people afflicted with the disease rose to 10375.
The four deaths were reported from Maharashtra (3) and Delhi (1). The total death toll in the country so far is 328.
In Delhi, the death toll due to the viral disease has reached 12.
"An eight-month-old male child who died on September 29 at Hindu Rao Hospital was reported to be positive for swine flu virus today," Delhi health minister Kiran Walia said.
Walia further said the situation is under control and the government is doing its best efforts in providing treatment to H1N1 patients in government hospitals. She advised people to visit a doctor at the earliest if any symptom of swine flu appears. PTI
