Gurgaon: Four leopards were found dead at ITC golf course in Manesar, Gurgaon. In April this year, a nine-month-old female leopard was found dead. In the same vicinity, during the probe, three more leopards were found dead in mysterious circumstances.
Nobody knew how this happened. If forest department officials are to be believed, who probed this matter, they have cracked the case. They said that killers have been identified and the names will divulged in a Faridabad environment court soon.
According a forest official, the leopards were not killed for smuggling purpose as the carcasses, the skin, toes and bones of leopards were intact.
Another official of the forest department said that no specific evidence was found that these leopards were beaten to death or were injured in scuffle with other animals.
The dead leopards were not in a condition to be sent for an autopsy and thus forest department cremated them.
