Jaipur, Apr 14: The 'shahi sawaari' (procession) on the occasion of Gangaur festival was taken out in the Pink City on Saturday with foreign tourists crowding around to watch the Kalbelia, Algauja, Gair and Chakri dancers.
The procession started from Janani Deodhi (women's quarters) of City Palace and snaked its way through Tripolia Bazar, Chhoti Chaupad, Gangouri bazar and Chaugaan stadium before ending at Talkatora.
The songs of Gangaur filled the air as girls and women began their Gangaur Poojan. While women prayed for long life of their husbands, unmarried women prayed for a handsome groom.
