Gibraltar International Airport
It is also known as North Front Airport. The airport serves the British overseas territory of Gibraltar.
This is the only airport in the world where one can drive across a runway. The main landing strip of the planes passes through the main street of the city and vehicles are made to stop every time an aircraft lands or takes off.
The History Channel programme Most Extreme Airports ranked the airport the fifth most extreme airport in the world.
On 10 January 2012, the airport was selected as one of the 'World's Scariest Airport Landings and Take-offs' in the travel section of the Daily Telegraph due to its runway which extends into the sea.
