A fire incident was reported on the Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express at Cuttack station on Thursday morning (December 7), following which the blaze was brought under control by services personnel.
However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
The train resumed its onward journey after the fire was brought under control.
Station Superintendent reacts
Station Superintendent SK Malik said that no passenger suffered any injuries and the mechanical glitch was rectified.
"The train arrived here at 6.32 am and we found a mechanical fault. It was attended to by the Department of Mechanical. The fault was rectified and the train was released with a slight delay. No passenger suffered any injuries and the train did not suffer any damages," he said.
