New Delhi, Jul 17: A major fire gutted several saree shops in Old Delhi's congested Chandni Chowk on Monday night.
The fire was first noticed in a building housing synthetic saree shops in Vaidwada Gali. The fire soon spread to shops at the back.
Fire brigade had a tough time controlling the fire because of the congested street. More than 12 fire tenders were brought in.
The fire occurred when most of the shops were closed for the day.
