Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki today said that the objective of his government in the 12th Plan period was faster, inclusive and sustainable development of the state.

“Our impetus is on people centric programmes and policies at all level. We have identified many priority areas and tried to create and strengthen the instutional mechanism to deliver on our agenda,” he said.

He said the priority areas of the government was youth development, social security, gender balance and empowerment of women besides agriculture and allied sectors, tourism, infrastructure development, health, education and border area development.

“We have taken initiatives to build strong foundations to strengthen the delivery system related to these thrust areas along with a suitable evaluation and monitoring mechanism,” the chief minister said.

He said, various flagship schemes of the Centre over the last ten years ensured that benefits went to the people directly in accordance with the principles of equitable development for growth across all sectors.

“The planning perspectives under the UPA regime have seen the introduction of landmark initiatives to empower the common man encompassing different areas of development.  The introduction of PM's package in the state has broadened the scope of growth by ushering in major infrastructure development activities for all-round development of the state,” he said.

Outlining the development activities of his government, Tuki said that the target of providing employment to 5000 unemployed youths would be fulfilled before the deadline while the ambitious railway project would be operational in the state from January.

Referring to the internal security scenario, he said that the Home department has recruited 1526 police constables in a transparent manner during 2012 from Changlang, Tirap and Longding districts who have completed basic training and were now deployed.

Recruitment for the 4th and 5th IRBn have been completed and about 1760 personnel were under training.  The union Home ministry recently approved one CRPF battalion of about 1000 personnel for the state capital. Their deployment would strenghten policing, he added.
