Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad Development Authority's proposal suggesting partnership between farmers and builders for integrated townships has got the state government's approval, its chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav said yesterday.

“GDA had sent one proposal to the state government for allowing partnership of farmers in the townships with the builders.

The state government has agreed to the proposal.  “Accordingly, builders and farmers can now fix ratios of their partnership in the project as per their agreement,” he said while speaking on ‘Presentation Program on amended rules and bye-laws for Integrated Township' at a function here.

He said as per the previous plans of ‘Integrated Township' such partnership was not allowed, due to which several farmers used to take recourse to legal action against the builders which led to hindrance in developmental work.

Also, previously the licence to builders for ‘Integrated Township' was given for two years. After completion of two years, the duration was extended by the state government for one year, he said.

“Now as per the amended rules and bye-laws for Integrated Township, after the lapse of license, it could be extended for a period of two years at single stretch,” he said.

Interacting with the builders, he said they would no longer have to go to Lucknow for renewal of their licenses as they can now get them renewed at GDA office.
