Char Minar

Located in Hyderabad, Char Minar was built in 1591 by Mohammed Quli Qutab Shah to mark the end of plague in the Hyderabad city.

Char Minar is an Indo-Islamic architecture style, incorporating Persian architectural elements and was intended to serve as a Mosque and Madraasa.

Charminar is a massive and impressive structure with four minarets made of granite, limestone, mortar and pulverised marble.

Charminar has four imposing arches, which face the four main directions.

Char Minar comprises of a mosque at the top, situated on the western side of the Charminar facing Mecca, is said to be the oldest surviving mosque in Hyderabad.
