New Delhi: Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wodeyar, scion of the erstwhile Mysore royal family, died of a massive cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Bangalore today.
Wodeyar was brought in a non-responsive state and attempts to resuscitate him did not succeed, sources at Vikram Hospital, where he was rushed, said.
Wodeyar was only recently elected as President of Karnataka State Cricket Association in a hotly contested election.
Born in 1953, Wadiyar is the only son of Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar, the last ruling Maharaja of Mysore.
He is married to Pramoda Devi, who hails from Ursu family of the erstwhile Princely State of Mysore.
Wadiyar has been elected as Member of Parliament from Mysore four times as a Congress candidate.
