Kolkata: Senior CPI(M) leader Gautam Deb has been summoned by the Bidhanagar police in connection with his allegations that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was involved in the Saradha scam.
Police said Deb, a former West Bengal minister, has been asked to appear at the Electronic Complex police station at 2 PM on Wednesday.
Deb has accused Banerjee, her family members and her Trinamool Congress party of being involved in the Saradha chit fund scam during a programme aired in a local TV channel.
Hours after the programme, the police went to Deb's residence in Salt Lake and asked him to appear before them on the scheduled time.
When contacted, Deb said he was consulting lawyers on the matter.
