Meerut: It is indeed back of ‘goonda raj' in Uttar Pradesh. No other thought will reflect in your mind after knowing how some youths misbehaved with a woman and her husband at a crowded chowk in the Meerut city.
In a road rage incident, a santro driven by some boys hit a couple on the bike resulting in a feud in both the parties, after which the boys started misbehaving with the lady and also hit her husband.
The situation becomes more terrible when police instead of discharging its ‘assigned' duty became a ‘spectator'.
The incident took place when the lady was heading towards her home with her husband on bike.
What was more shameful, people who were present at that moment were busy in clicking photographs rather than extending their helping hands towards the victim and her husband.
Not only public, but the police at the site also became a spectator.
Later, the victim, with help of her husband, somehow managed to fight with the assailants and saved their lives.
Meanwhile, police has arrested one accused and hunt to trace two absconding is on.
Om Prakash, SP, Meerut said, “I have taken cognizance of the incident after going through reports published in newspapers, but we have not received any complaint from the victim. We are tracing the accused persons.”
