Hyderabad, March 28: Eight people were killed in four separate incidents during Holi celebrations in Andhra Pradesh yesterday, police said.
Five youths drowned in a lake in Nizamabad district. Police said they drowned in Basant Lake in Srikonda while taking bath. The bodies were retrieved and taken to a hospital in Armoor town for autopsy.
A youth drowned in a well in IDL area in Kukatpally here. Police said he had gone to the well to take a bath after celebrating Holi.
A six-year-old boy drowned in a water tank near Koyalagudem in Choutuppal mandal of Nalgonda district. He too was taking bath after playing Holi.
A youth, playing Holi, was killed after a truck knocked him down in Adigoppala in Durgi mandal of Guntur district.
In Kadapa district, a five-year-old boy accidentally fell into a borewell while playing Holi with friends. He was rescued by villagers. The incident took place in Kumarampalli in Vempalli mandal.
