New Delhi: The busses of Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will remain off the road till 2 PM on the occasion of Holi on Friday.
DTC has announced that all city services will remain suspended till 2 PM on March 6 and only 1,425 buses will run in the afternoon service in the city, NCR and Interstate on selected routes as per traffic requirement.
“Since the traffic load will be very less on this day (Holi), only 1,425 buses will be operated in the afternoon service. AC buses will be operated only on Airport Express Bus Service,” a statement said.
It also said that to avoid incidents of eve-teasing in the buses during Holi festival, DTC has issued necessary instructions to its drivers, conductors and traffic supervisory staff.
“In case of any such untoward incident, drivers and conductors have been instructed to take the bus immediately to the nearest police station or PCR van,” it said, adding that for any enquiry, passengers can contact DTC call center at 23317600 or DTC helpline no.1800118181 (toll free).
