At least 13 trains have been affected after around 10 to 12 coaches of Dibrugarh Express derailed in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda on Thursday. Several trains of Lucknow Gonda Gorakhpur route were being run on the diverted routes due to the accident which claimed four lives and left several injured. Some trains were also cancelled.
List of trains that were affected due to derailment in Gonda
The following trains were diverted to run-
- 15707 Katihar-Amritsar Express was being diverted to run via Mankapur-Ayodhya-Barabanki.
- 15653 Guwahati-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express was being diverted to run via Mankapur-Ayodhya-Barabanki
- 12598 Mumbai Gorakhpur Antyodaya Express was being run on diverted route
- 15204 Lucknow Barauni Express was being run on a diverted route
- 12532 Lucknow Gorakhpur Express was being run on a diverted route
- 15652 Jammu Tawi Guwahati Lohit Express was being run on diverted route
- 15910 Lalgarh Dibrugarh Avadh Assam Express was being run on diverted route
- 11123 Gwalior Barauni Express was being run on a diverted route
- 02570 New Delhi Darbhanga Express was being run on a diverted route
- 12566 New Delhi Darbhanga Bihar Sampark Kranti Express was being run on diverted route
Four killed in train accident
At least four people were killed and 20 others injured when at least 10 coaches of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derailed. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak told said four people were killed in the accident in the state's Gonda district.
Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar said 20 persons have been injured in the accident.
A 40-member medical team and 15 ambulances are at the spot and more medical teams and ambulances are being rushed there, he said.
Senior railway and local administration officials are at the spot to oversee rescue operations.
The accident occurred at around 2:35 pm, railway officials said.
According to the relief commissioner's office, the helpline numbers- Gonda: 8957400965, Lucknow: 8957409292 have been started.
The Indian Railways has started the relief operation and medical vans have reached the accident site.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident and has directed local administration to provide assistance to the affected passengers. The chief minister has asked the officials to ensure proper medical treatment of the passengers injured in the incident.
