Four back to back explosions took place in Assam on Sunday morning as the country celebrated Republic Day. As per reports, three explosions took place within 30 minutes time span and the fourth was reported later. Three explosions took place in Dibrugarh while the fourth explosion took place in Charaideo.
The first explosion was reported at a shop near NH 37 at Graham Bazaar while the second explosion took place near a Gurudwara, on A T Road, both under Dibrugarh police station. Assam police and other officials have reached the spot.
Another explosion rocked the oil town of Duliajan whose details are still awaited, police said. Another explosion rocked Teok Ghat under Sonari police station of Charaideo district, they said.
Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahant told ANI, "We have received the information about the explosion in Dibrugarh. An investigation has begun, it is being probed that who is involved in this."
Senior officials have rushed to the explosion sites, police added. The number of casualties and the intensity of the explosion is yet to certain.
